What is Charging Management System?

A charging management system (CMS), also called a charging station management system (CSMS) or charge point management system (CPMS), is the EV charging management software that connects your chargers over OCPP, tracks every session, applies your tariffs, collects payments and reports revenue. Charge point operators use it to run public, fleet and residential charging from one place, and to give their drivers a smooth way to find, start and pay for a charge.

Frequently asked Questions

Common questions about YoCharge EV charging management software

1. What is an EV charging management system (EV CMS, CSMS or CPMS)?

An EV charging management system is the software that connects your chargers over OCPP and runs the business around them: real-time status, remote start and stop, tariffs, payments, invoices, roaming and reports. A charging station management system (CSMS) and a charge point management system (CPMS) are other names for the same software. YoCharge EV CMS does all of this for charge point operators from one dashboard.

2. Which chargers does YoCharge EV CMS work with?

Any OCPP-compliant charger, AC or DC. YoCharge runs on OCPP 1.6J, which most installed chargers use, is ready for OCPP 2.1, and has 50+ charger brands already integrated, so you can choose hardware on price and service.

3. Does YoCharge support EV roaming?

Yes. Roaming runs on OCPI 2.2.1, and the ChargeGrid roaming hub connects your stations to drivers who use other networks' apps.

4. Where do charging payments go?

Your own drivers' payments, including UPI and UBC in India, go straight to your account. Roaming revenue from third-party networks is collected by YoCharge and credited to you, as fast as T+2 from the session. On YoCharge Managed, YoCharge collects payments and credits your earnings weekly.

5. What is the difference between CMS SaaS, YoCharge Managed and white-label?

With CMS SaaS you run the platform yourself on self-serve plans and your drivers use the YoCharge app. With YoCharge Managed you add your chargers and YoCharge runs everything, priced per kWh, with earnings credited weekly. With white-label the apps and dashboard carry your brand, payments from your own drivers go to your account, and YoCharge is your technical implementation partner.

6. How long does onboarding take?

You can register for Forever Free online. For partnership and white-label launches, a typical launch takes 2–6 weeks from signed agreement, depending on your scope: the number of charger makes, payment gateways and custom features. App-store review time is extra.

7. How is YoCharge EV CMS priced?

Forever Free costs $0 for up to 1 property and 5 charging stations, for your own charging only. Starter is $50 a month for up to 5 properties and 25 charging stations. White-label and Enterprise plans are quoted for your region and scope.

8. Can I run the platform under my own brand?

Yes. With white-label EV charging software, your drivers see your name, logo and colours on the apps, web app and dashboard, and YoCharge stays in the background.

9. How does load management work?

Dynamic load management keeps each site inside its sanctioned load by sharing the available power across the chargers in use, and smart charging can move sessions to cheaper periods.

10. Where is the platform hosted and how reliable is it?

YoCharge runs on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure across 6+ data centers, serving charging networks in 25+ countries with 99% uptime for mission-critical deployments.
