Hardware-Agnostic EV Charging Software
One platform that works with any OCPP charger, AC or DC, whoever made it.
Choose your chargers on price, power and service, not on which software they’re locked to. YoCharge runs 60+ charger brands on one platform, for charging networks in 25+ countries. Bring the chargers you already have, add new makes as you grow, and manage them all from one dashboard.

Why hardware-agnostic matters
Charging software that only works with one maker’s chargers ties your network to that maker’s prices, lead times and roadmap. That’s vendor lock-in, and it gets more expensive with every site you add. Hardware-agnostic software breaks the tie: the charger and the platform speak an open protocol, OCPP, so you can mix brands, switch suppliers and keep your options open as the market changes.
Buy on merit: pick each charger for the site, the power level and the price.
Mix freely: run several brands side by side, on one platform.
Grow without re-platforming: add new makes as they come to market.
Charger compatibility: what works with YoCharge
YoCharge works with any charger that speaks OCPP, the open protocol between chargers and their management platform. 60+ charger brands already run on the platform. If your charger make isn’t one of them yet, we’ll bring it on: an OCPP charger is a compatibility check away, not a custom project.
Our OCPP versions, in the order most chargers use them:
| Version | Status on YoCharge |
|---|---|
| OCPP 1.6J | Supported. The version most installed chargers run today |
| OCPP 2.0.1 | Supported |
| OCPP 2.1 | Ready |
OCPP compatible chargers of different versions can run on the same platform side by side. OCPP software for EV charging
How we onboard a new charger
Bringing a charger make we haven’t run before onto YoCharge follows four steps:
Share the charger: tell us the make, model, firmware version and OCPP version.
We test it: our engineers run the charger through a checklist of 50+ tests that check how it behaves over OCPP, so issues show up before your rollout, not after it.
Point it at YoCharge: set the charger’s OCPP server address to your YoCharge endpoint, on site or through the maker’s configuration tool.
Go live: the charger appears in your dashboard, ready to monitor, control and bill like every other charger on your network.
Everything on top, whatever the hardware
The charger brand changes nothing about what you can run. Every charger on YoCharge gets the full platform:
Charging management: sites, chargers, users, tariffs and reports in one place.
Remote operations: diagnostics, remote resets and firmware updates without a site visit, plus 24/7 issue detection that resolves up to 80% of operational problems remotely.
Load management: share a site’s power across chargers by priority, first-in-first-out or battery level, through OCPP charging profiles.
Payments and billing: per-kWh, per-minute or per-session tariffs, idle fees, wallets, RFID and automated, tax-compliant invoices.
Plug & Charge: sessions that start when the driver plugs in, with Autocharge at supported chargers.
Roaming: OCPI 2.2.1 roaming with other networks.
In India, where 99%+ of public chargers run OCPP 1.6J, that means one platform for Indian and global charger brands alike.
Software for existing EV chargers
Switching software shouldn’t mean replacing hardware. If your chargers speak OCPP, you keep them: they’re re-pointed to YoCharge, and our team supports the move from your current back office. Multi-vendor charger management then happens on one dashboard, with one set of reports, alerts and tariffs across every brand.
Who runs mixed hardware on YoCharge
Charge point operators: buy chargers from any supplier and run them as one network.
Charger manufacturers: give your customers a ready platform for your chargers.
Installers: connect what you install to a platform your clients can run.
Your own brand: run the whole platform under your name.

Hardware-agnostic charging: questions buyers ask
What does hardware-agnostic EV charging software mean?
It’s charging software that works with chargers from any manufacturer, rather than one maker’s own hardware. YoCharge connects chargers over OCPP, so any OCPP charger can run on it, and 60+ charger brands already do.
Which chargers work with YoCharge?
Any charger that supports OCPP. 60+ charger brands run on the platform today, and we bring new makes on board through our OCPP test checklist.
Which OCPP versions do you support?
OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1, and the platform is OCPP 2.1-ready. Chargers on different versions can run side by side.
How do you check that a new charger works?
Our engineers run it through a checklist of 50+ tests of its OCPP behaviour before it goes live on your network. In India, where 99%+ of public chargers run OCPP 1.6J, most chargers already speak the protocol the checklist covers.
How does onboarding a new charger work?
Share the make, model, firmware and OCPP version; we test it; you point the charger’s OCPP server address at YoCharge; it appears in your dashboard.
Can I keep my existing chargers if I switch software?
Yes, if they speak OCPP. They’re re-pointed to YoCharge, and our team supports the move from your current back office.
What if my charger doesn’t support OCPP?
YoCharge connects chargers over OCPP 1.6J or later as standard. If your charger only speaks a proprietary protocol, we can integrate it as a paid custom project. Ask us for a quote.
Can I run the platform under my own brand?
Yes. YoCharge is available white-label, with your logo, colours, payment gateway and language, on top of whatever chargers you run.
