At the May E.ON Drive Summit in Munich, Alpitronic revealed its new Megawatt Charging System (MCS), designed for electric trucks.
The system will offer up to one megawatt of power per charging point with a charging current of 1,500 amps. This system promises to deliver 97% efficiency, making it a major advancement in charging technology.
Alpitronic emphasized the system’s scalability, allowing it to adapt to industry developments and higher performance needs.
A key focus is on reliability, with the company noting that its system is built on SiC power technology, tested in over 80 million charging sessions.
Wolfgang Ademmer, CMO of Alpitronic, highlighted the significance of this system for decarbonizing the logistics sector. “Our new Megawatt Charging System represents a major leap forward,” he said.
The charging solution addresses the needs of logistics companies adopting electric trucks for long-distance transportation.
Alpitronic’s Megawatt Charging System will be formally presented at an event in Bolzano in February 2025, with production starting in the second quarter of the same year. Those interested can learn more about the system at the IAA Transportation event.
Alpitronic’s Megawatt Charging System is an innovation that marks a critical step toward making electric trucks more viable for the transport sector, contributing to cleaner, greener logistics.
