How to charge your Hero Vida Electric Scooters

The first electric scooters from Hero MotoCorp, the Hero Vida V1, are available in two models, the V1 Plus and V1 Pro, with ex-showroom prices of Rs. 1,45,000 and Rs. 1,59,000, respectively. While the V1 Plus receives a 3.44kWh (IP67) battery pack, the V1 Pro employs a 3.94kWh (IP67) battery pack. The models’ respective IDC ranges are 165 km and 143 km. Both models come equipped with an IP68-rated motor that has a top speed of 80 kmph. The V1 Pro, on the other hand, accelerates faster, going from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 3.2 seconds. With a time of 3.4 seconds for the 0–40 km/h run, the V1 Plus isn’t far behind.

Methods of charging Hero Vida V1

The Hero Vida can be charged using three charging options fast charging, removable batteries, and regular portable chargers. Let us discuss about the methods in details :

1. Fast charging

Fast charging option is provided for the users of Vida V1. It receives the same port as the Ather 450X, enabling V1 users access to both Vida’s fast chargers and the Ather Grid.

Using the fast charging method, the brand claims that it will take 65 minutes to recharge from 0% to 80%. For fast charging the method the user have to just simply connect the fast charging cord to the respective port.

2. Using removable batteries

Additionally, the Vida V1 has two removable batteries. Each 12kg unit can be charged anywhere, even at your home or place of work. By removing the removable battery from the scooter and carrying it back home, you may quickly charge it.

It is easily charged using its standard charging cable. It can be charged from 0 to 80% with less than 6 hours using regular charging option. The battery has a warranty of about three years or up to 30,000 kilometers.

3. Regular portable charger

The third method is to charge the electric scooter using a regular portable charger. By connecting the vehicle with the portable charger to any standard 5A socket board, the electric scooter can be charged.

Here the charger is plugged into a port under the seat. It takes about 6 hours depending on the variant to charge from 0 to 80 % using the regular charger.

Features of Hero Vida V1

Hero is providing a five-year, 50,000-mile warranty on the Vida V1 scooter. The Vida V1 has LED lighting as one of its characteristics, and the headlamp and taillight certainly give the scooter a very distinct style.  Other features include anti-theft alarm, track my bike, follow-me headlamps, remote immobilization, geo-fencing, vehicle diagnostics and an SOS button positioned on the switchcube.

It has a modular storage compartment. In effect, the storage compartment is located behind the swappable battery and is enclosed by a removable fairing and pillion seat. The cover can be removed to maximize the normal 26-litre storage area and fit extra goods within. It has a 7-inch color TFT display, keyless access, and attractive switch cubes for numerous functions.

The Vida V1’s electronics are IP65 rated. It comes with three riding modes (Eco, Ride, and Sport), as well as a fully customizable ride mode with the ability to adjust the acceleration and regenerative braking to the rider’s preferences. Additionally, the rider gets short boost and negative throttle for reverse mode.
