V2G for fleets

V2G Charging Software for EV Fleets

Charge your fleet on your schedule, and let supported vehicles send energy back to the grid when it’s needed most.

Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) is live for fleets on YoCharge. The platform that runs your depot charging also manages bidirectional energy flow between your vehicles and the grid, at supported chargers and vehicles. It’s the same EV charging, fleet and energy management platform that charging operators use in 25+ countries.

Bidirectional EV charger software, built for fleet depots

A fleet’s vehicles spend hours parked at the depot, on a schedule you already know. With V2G, those parked batteries stop being only a load on the grid: supported vehicles can send energy back during peak demand. Making that work takes software that knows the fleet, the chargers and the site at once.

YoCharge brings V2G into the platform you already use for fleet charging, so there’s no separate system to run:

  • One platform: vehicles, drivers, chargers and V2G sessions in one dashboard.

  • Your rules first: Time-of-Day scheduling, priorities and site load limits set how the depot charges.

  • Any OCPP charger for the rest of the depot: 60+ charger brands run on YoCharge, so V2G chargers sit alongside the chargers you already have.

How V2G works on YoCharge

  1. Connect your chargers: supported bidirectional chargers join YoCharge next to the rest of your depot’s chargers.

  2. Add your fleet: register vehicles and drivers in YoCharge’s vehicle and driver management.

  3. Set the depot’s rules: Time-of-Day charging windows, priorities and the site’s load limit.

  4. Charge and give back: vehicles charge in their planned windows; supported vehicles send energy back to the grid during peak demand.

  5. Watch it live: follow every charger and session from the dashboard.

What you need for V2G

V2G needs every link in the chain to support it. Before a rollout, we check each one with you:

  • A bidirectional charger that YoCharge supports for V2G.

  • Vehicles that support bidirectional charging. Not every EV does, and support varies by model and market.

  • Grid permission where it’s required: many utilities and grid operators need to approve equipment that exports power. The rules vary by country and network.

  • YoCharge to run charging, V2G and the rest of the depot on one platform.

We confirm charger and vehicle compatibility for your fleet in the demo.

V2G is one capability of YoCharge’s fleet charging platform, alongside the features fleets already use every day:

Who it’s for

  • Fleet operators: logistics, ride-hail, corporate and bus fleets that charge at their own depots. V2G is live for fleets today.

  • Operators that charge fleets: if you run charging sites for fleet customers, talk to us about V2G at your sites.

  • Vehicle-to-home (V2H) collaborators: V2H is on our roadmap, and we’re looking for collaborators. Talk to us.

V2G charging software: questions buyers ask

What is V2G software?

V2G software manages vehicle-to-grid charging: when vehicles charge, and when supported vehicles send energy back to the grid through a bidirectional charger. On YoCharge, it runs inside the fleet charging platform, alongside vehicle, driver and charger management.

Is V2G live on YoCharge?

Yes, for fleets. Fleet operators can run V2G at supported chargers and vehicles on YoCharge today.

What’s the difference between bidirectional charging and V2G?

Bidirectional charging means energy can flow both ways between a vehicle and a charger. V2G is one use of it: sending energy from the vehicle back to the grid. Our FAQ on bidirectional EV charging explains the technology in more depth.

Which chargers and vehicles work with V2G on YoCharge?

V2G needs a bidirectional charger that YoCharge supports and vehicles that support bidirectional charging. We confirm compatibility for your chargers and vehicles before rollout, rather than publishing a fixed list.

Do I need approval from my utility for V2G?

Often, yes. Many utilities and grid operators require approval for equipment that exports power, and the rules differ by country and network. Plan for it early in your rollout.

Do I need separate software for V2G?

No. V2G runs on YoCharge’s fleet charging platform, with the same dashboard, load management and payments you use for the rest of your depot.

Do you offer vehicle-to-home (V2H)?

V2H is on our roadmap, and we’re looking for collaborators. If you’re exploring vehicle-to-home or another bidirectional use, talk to us. V2G is live for fleets today.
