Workplace EV Charging for Employees
Give your people a place to charge at work, and see exactly how it’s used.
Offices, campuses and business parks add EV charging so employees can charge while they work. YoCharge is the EV charging management software that charging networks use in 25+ countries: decide who charges free and who pays, track each employee’s charging, and keep the building’s power in check, across every site, from one dashboard.
- Employee charging
- Free or paid, by group
- Per-employee reports
- Load management
Office EV charging, run on YoCharge
Employees park for the working day, so a few hours on a charger is all most of them need. The software handles access, pricing and power.
Free for employees, paid for visitors: put employees in a user group with free charging, and charge visitors per kWh, per minute or per session. Company pool cars can have a group of their own.
Employee utilisation: every session records who charged, at which charger, when and how much energy, so you can track utilisation by employee, team, charger or site and export the reports.
Simple access: employees start a session with an RFID card or the app, and only the groups you choose can use the chargers.
Power shared fairly: load management keeps total charging inside the building’s power limit and shares power by priority tier or first-in-first-out, with Time-of-Day scheduling for off-peak hours.
Every site, one dashboard: charger status, sessions and reports for all your offices, with 24/7 alerts and self-healing that resolves up to 80% of operational problems remotely.
Any OCPP charger: AC chargers for the working day and DC chargers where you need faster top-ups, from 60+ charger brands.
Charging data for your sustainability report
Many companies now report their emissions under the GHG Protocol. Workplace charging touches two parts of that report, and YoCharge gives your sustainability team the data for both.
Scope 2: under the GHG Protocol, electricity your sites buy for workplace charging falls in Scope 2. Metered, per-session energy gives your team activity data it can trace back to each charger.
Scope 3, employee commuting: commuting is reported under Scope 3, Category 7. Per-employee charging records show who commutes by EV, which helps your team base its estimate on real usage rather than survey assumptions alone.
Your method decides: YoCharge exports the charging data. Your GHG methodology, emission factors and assurance provider decide how it is reported.
Workplace charging: questions companies ask
Can employees charge for free while visitors pay?
Yes. Put employees in a user group with free charging, and set a tariff for visitors per kWh, per minute or per session. You can change who is in each group at any time.
Can we see how much each employee charges?
Yes. Every session records who charged, at which charger, when and how much energy. Reports show usage by employee, team, charger or site, and you can export them.
Will office chargers overload the building’s supply?
Load management keeps total charging within the power limit you set and shares power across chargers by priority or first-in-first-out. Time-of-Day scheduling can move charging to off-peak hours.
Does workplace charging help with emissions reporting?
It gives you the data. Under the GHG Protocol, electricity bought for workplace charging is Scope 2, and employee commuting is Scope 3, Category 7. YoCharge exports the charging records; your methodology decides how they are reported.
Which chargers can we use?
Any OCPP charger, AC or DC, from 60+ charger brands. If you already have chargers in your car park, they can usually move onto YoCharge.
