YoCharge for ChatGPT
Ask ChatGPT about your charging network in plain language. The app is read-only and only sees your own organization’s data.
What the app does
The YoCharge app links ChatGPT to your YoCharge CPO Admin account through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once it’s connected, anyone on your team can ask ChatGPT about stations, charging sessions and users and get answers from live data, without opening dashboards or building an API integration.
Every request runs under your own YoCharge account and its permissions. The app does not keep a copy of your data: each question becomes a live, read-only request to the YoCharge platform.
Tools
All tools are read-only. None of them can create, change or delete anything, so ChatGPT can’t start or stop a charger, change a tariff or edit a user through this app.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
| List Properties | The stations (locations) in your network nearest to a location you give, closest first, a page at a time. With “only available” on, it searches across networks, including roaming partner locations, and returns only stations with an online charger and a free connector, so a page may hold fewer stations. |
| List Transactions | Charging sessions, filtered by date range, station, charger, status, session ID or a search term. |
| Get Transaction Details | The full record of one charging session. |
| List Users | The user accounts in your organization: drivers, and also your own admin and staff accounts. Filter by email or mobile number, sign-up date or status (active or blocked). Results include each user’s email address and mobile number. |
Example questions
- “Which of our stations had the most sessions last week?”
- “Show me failed sessions at our airport site between 1 and 7 October.”
- “Is there an available charger within 5 km of this address right now?”
- “Find the user with this email and show their recent sessions.”
Before you start
On the YoCharge CPO Admin portal, under For Developers → MCP API Integrations, check that:
- MCP API Integrations is enabled for your organization.
- You have your YoCharge CPO Admin login: the same email and password you use for the portal.
If the setting is off, ask your YoCharge account manager or email support@yocharge.com.
Connect YoCharge to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open the app directory and search for YoCharge.
- Select YoCharge and choose to connect it.
- ChatGPT sends you to the YoCharge sign-in page.
- Sign in with your YoCharge CPO Admin email and password.
- Review the access requested and click Approve.
- You’re returned to ChatGPT, and YoCharge is ready to use.
How sign-in works
Connecting uses OAuth 2.1 (authorization code flow with PKCE):
- You sign in on YoCharge’s own page. Your password is never shared with ChatGPT or OpenAI.
- Approving issues an access token scoped to your organization. ChatGPT uses it to call the tools on your behalf.
- Access tokens last 30 days and refresh tokens 90 days, unless you revoke them sooner.
Query limits
These limits are enforced so answers stay fast and complete.
| Query | Limit |
|---|---|
| Charging sessions and users, by date | At most 7 days per query. Ask for a longer period and ChatGPT splits it into 7-day queries. |
| Charging sessions and users, no filters | 10 records per page. ChatGPT asks for the next page when it needs more. |
When a request goes past a limit, the app returns an error explaining how to narrow it. It never silently cuts results short.
What the app can’t answer
The app doesn’t expose wallet balances, revenue reports or support tickets. ChatGPT will say so rather than guess.
Revoke access
Revoke ChatGPT’s access at any time from For Developers → MCP API Integrations in the CPO Admin portal. The token stops working immediately, and your other API keys and integrations are not affected. You can also disconnect YoCharge in ChatGPT’s settings.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| YoCharge isn’t offered or the connection fails straight away | MCP API Integrations isn’t enabled for your organization yet |
| The sign-in page rejects your login | Use your CPO Admin portal login, not a sub-user or an API key |
| The redirect back to ChatGPT hangs | Try connecting again. If it keeps happening, email support@yocharge.com with the approximate time |
| ChatGPT says a date range is too long | Ask for 7 days or less, or let ChatGPT split the period |
