
EVIQ, Saudi Arabia’s top EV infrastructure provider, has launched its first highway EV charging station at SASCO Aljazeera on the Riyadh-Qassim highway. This is part of EVIQ’s larger plan to build a nationwide EV charging network.
The charging station is the first of many that EVIQ plans to install across the country. The company aims to deploy over 5,000 fast chargers by 2030. It will ensure high-performance charging solutions that align with Saudi Arabia’s sustainability goals.
EVIQ’s Commitment to Expanding EV Charging Infrastructure
EVIQ’s CEO, Mohammed Bakr Gazzaz, highlighted the importance of this milestone. He said, “The opening of our first highway EV charging hub at SASCO Aljazeera on the Riyadh-Qassim highway is a key step in building a strong and connected charging network in Saudi Arabia.
Mohammed Bakr Gazzaz added, “This initiative supports the country’s move towards sustainable transport by providing EV drivers with efficient charging infrastructure along major highways.”
Mr. Bakr Gazzaz stated “Our expansion this year will include two more highway routes: Riyadh-Dammam and Mecca-Madinah, along with further stations on the Riyadh-Qassim route.”
SASCO’s Role in Supporting EV Growth
As a strategic partner in this project, SASCO is helping improve Saudi Arabia’s roadside infrastructure by adding EV charging stations to its network of service stations. This partnership supports SASCO’s goal of modernizing highway services and promoting eco-friendly travel.
SASCO’s CEO, Riyadh Almalik, emphasized this commitment, stating, “At SASCO, we focus on evolving our services to meet travelers’ changing needs.
Riyadh Almalik stated, “Adding EV charging stations at our locations helps achieve Saudi Arabia’s sustainability goals while giving motorists easy and reliable charging options.”
Mr. Almalik also said, “Our partnership with EVIQ allows us to expand this initiative to more locations, helping drive Saudi Arabia’s transition to electric mobility.”
