How to Charge your Tata Tigor EV

Tata Tigor EV is one of the bestselling Tata EVs on Indian roads. It was launched by Tata Motors on 31st August 2021. It comes with as four variants  XE, XM, XZ+, and XZ+ Dual Tone. Tata Tigor has four color variations including Signature Teal Blue, Teal Blue With Black roof, Daytona Grey, Daytona Grey with Black Roof. Tata is equipping the Tigor EV with the Ziptron drivetrain from the Nexon EV.

The electric car has a 75PS/170Nm electric motor( which is less than the Nexon EV) and a 26kWh battery pack with an IP67 rating. It is a 5 seater with a boot space of 316 liters. It ia equipped with auto air conditioning, a driver seat that can be adjusted in height, a 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a cooled glove box. Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors all contribute to the safety of the passengers. Additionally, a four-star safety rating from the Global NCAP supports the occupants’ security.

Tata Tigor EV charging

The CCS Type 2 charging connector, which is presently the standard for electric vehicles in India, is included in the Tigor EV. A 15A plug point is capable of charging a device from 0% to 80% in around 8 hours and 45 minutes. This can be easily achieved if the user charges the electric vehicle overnight and which successfully makes the tank full. The method of charging Tata Tigor at homes is convenient as well as cost-friendly, with a cost of Rs.8 per unit. Hence the cost to charge a full tank will be Rs. 208.

Users of the Tata Tigor EV can expect to travel between 180 and 200 km on a full charge when traveling within the city’s speed limits. Theoretically, a full charge should last for five or a week’s worth of travel if you travel an average of 30 to 40 kilometers each day. The batteries can be charged to 0% to 80% using a 25 kW DC fast charger in 65 minutes. You must spend between Rs. 18 and 20 per unit while using DC fast charger. So in just over an hour, a full tank would cost Rs. 520.

Estimated charging times change based on the surrounding temperature, the battery’s state (empty or half full), and the rate of charging. The rate of charging could be restricted by the car.

Tata Tigor EV Range

The Tigor EV claims a 306 km range that has been approved by ARAI on a single charge. The Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC) range of the Tiago EV with the larger battery is 315 km, while the MIDC range with the smaller battery is 250 km.
