MSEDCL Plans to Expand EV Charging Network in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has announced plans to increase the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and along the national highways. With 15 operational charging stations already in place, MSEDCL aims to meet the growing demand for EV infrastructure in the region. The utility has developed a dedicated power app to provide EV customers with essential information and is committed to enhancing the charging network to support the transition towards cleaner and greener transportation.

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has revealed its intentions to increase the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and along the national highways. This move is part of MSEDCL’s dedication to supporting the rising demand for EV infrastructure in Pune region.

During the inauguration of a newly constructed charging station on Senapati Bapat Road, MSEDCL’s Director of Projects, Prasad Reshme, expressed the company’s intensified efforts in establishing charging stations for EVs. Currently, there are already 15 operational stations in the Pune zone, with MSEDCL serving as the state’s central agency for providing EV charging facilities in accordance with the e-vehicle policy.

To ensure a convenient charging experience for EV customers, MSEDCL has developed a dedicated power app. This application offers crucial information, including the locations of charging stations, estimated charging times, power consumption data, payment options, wallet balance, and other relevant details.

The inauguration event was attended by MSEDCL Pune Regional Director Ankush Nale, Chief Engineer of Pune Circle Rajendra Pawar, and other officials. The newly commissioned EV charging stations are strategically positioned at 15 sub-centers across Pune Circle, covering prominent locations such as Aundh, Baner, Kharadi, Pimple Saudagar, and Vadgaon Sheri. These locations have been carefully selected to provide convenient access to charging infrastructure for EV owners.

MSEDCL’s expansion plans are aligned with the growing popularity of electric vehicles in the region. As the demand for EVs continues to rise, it is crucial to establish cutting-edge charging stations and ensure efficient power connections for these facilities.
