BYD Super e-Platform: BYD has introduced a groundbreaking EV technology that promises to deliver 250 miles of range in just five minutes, eliminating charging concerns for electric vehicle (EV) users.
At a launch event in Shenzhen, BYD revealed its new Super e-Platform, which transforms EV performance by upgrading the motor, electronic control, and battery systems.
According to the company, this innovation will set new records in mass-produced electric vehicles.
Megawatt Charging: Faster Than Ever
The Super e-Platform is built on a 1,000V vehicle architecture, enabling an ultra-fast 1MW (1,000kW) charging power—the fastest ever for a mass-produced EV. This means EVs can gain 1.2 miles of range per second and reach 248 miles (400km) in just five minutes.
Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD Group, called this a game-changer. He stated,
“Our goal is to make EV charging as fast as refueling a gasoline car. With megawatt flash charging, we are entering an era where fuel and electricity operate at the same speed.”

New Charging Stations & Upgraded Fast Chargers
To support this breakthrough, BYD has developed new liquid-cooled charging stations, capable of delivering up to 1,360kW of power. The company plans to build over 4,000 megawatt flash-charging stations across China.
Additionally, BYD introduced ‘dual-gun charging’ technology, which can instantly upgrade existing fast chargers to ultra-fast chargers and superchargers to flash chargers, making high-speed charging more accessible.
Powerful Motors & Flash Charging Battery
Alongside its charging advancements, BYD showcased its new electric motors in the China-only Han L and Tang L EVs. These motors produce 789hp and can reach up to 30,000rpm, ensuring high speed and rapid acceleration.
The Super e-Platform also features BYD’s Flash Charging Battery, which has an ultra-fast ion channel and supports a maximum charging current of 1,000A and a charging rate of 10C—both setting new benchmarks in EV battery technology.
With these innovations, BYD is bringing EV charging closer than ever to gasoline refueling speeds, paving the way for faster, more convenient electric mobility worldwide.
