On Monday, the website of Tata motors had temporary issues as customers rushed to book its newly launched electric hatchback Tata motors most affordable electric car Tata Tiago at Tiago.ev. Bookings for the model started on Monday, and delivery should start in January 2023.

Shailesh Chandra, managing director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said that “We are overwhelmed with the response to the Tiago ev at our dealerships and on our website. With thousands of customers rushing to book online at the same time, the website slowed down for a bit and is restored. We regret the inconvenience to our customers.” He continued by saying that all client requests and booking-related queries are being properly handled.

On September 28, the automaker introduced the electric model, with the first 10,000 buyers being charged a promotional pricing between Rs. 8.49 lakh and Rs. 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). For a deposit of 21,000, Tata Motors started the Tiago EV reservation window. Reservations can be made at dealerships, however several customers who went online complained that the official website frequently crashed.

The company’s electric vehicle collection now includes Tiago EV, which is also the most affordable brand of electric passenger vehicles in the nation. In all trims, Tiago.ev offers two different battery configurations, driving modes, and connected car telematics. Two battery pack configurations are available for the Tiago EV: 61PS/105Nm 19.2kWh and 75PS/114Nm 24kWh. The larger 19.2 kWh battery pack is capable of a claimed 250km of range, whereas the 24 kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 315km.

Tata Motor’s Tiago crosses 400,000 cumulative sales-mark

The entry-level hatchback Tiago has crossed 400,000 cumulative sales mark, according to a report from Tata Motors. Rajan Amba, vice president of sales, marketing, and customer service at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, made the statement that “This is indeed a historic milestone for Tata Motors as Tiago is the first car to complete this milestone in a short span. Tiago has been a key product in our Turnaround 2.0 strategy and since its launch has been successful in grabbing a sizeable market share in the most crowded segment in the auto industry.”
