Skoda Auto, the Czech automaker, has announced an ambitious plan to roll out six new EV Models by 2026. The company also plans to enter the affordable global EV market by 2025 with a target price of €25,000 (around Rs 22.5 lakh). The global CEO of Skoda Auto, Klaus Zellmer, announced the Let’s Explore plan at the company’s headquarters in Mlada Boleslav.
The Skoda EV plan includes two SUVs, a Wagon, and an MPV. It revealed clay models of four brand-new electric vehicles that range from a 4.1-meter small SUV to a compact SUV, a Combi Wagon, and a 4.9-meter MPV. The company announced that it would have a full range of all-electric models. These include the “Small” EV in the small SUV segment, a spacious “Combi” estate likely based on the Octavia, and a seven-seater SUV called “Space.”
Next year, Skoda will replace the Karoq with the Elroq SUV, and in 2025, Skoda will introduce an entry-level EV SUV. Skoda will launch its first upcoming BEV vehicle, the “Compact” SUV, in 2024, officially called Elroq. Measuring around 4.50 metres in length, it will be the all-electric successor to the Skoda Karoq.
Skoda will produce the future entry-level model with the working title “Small” at a Volkswagen Group Plant in Spain, and it will be launching in 2025.
The Enyaq family is also in talks of updation by 2025, and the range of SUVs will sport the new Modern Solid design language. Skoda emphasized that vehicles featuring modern & efficient internal combustion engines and plug-in hybrid powertrains will remain crucial during the transition period. Skoda aims to provide its most diverse lineup to date, consisting of new Superb, Kodiaq, Octavia, Kamiq, Scala, and BEV models.
Klaus Zellmer, the global CEO of Skoda Auto, said that with six new all-electric models across all segments by 2026, Skoda Auto is moving faster towards sustainable, electric individual mobility. He added that together with their new and highly efficient conventional and hybrid-powered models, Skoda is offering the best of both worlds – meeting their existing and new customers’ needs around the globe in this time of transition.
