Which properties install EV charging
How long people stay usually decides which chargers make sense:
Offices and workplaces: staff park for most of the day, so slower AC chargers often cover the need. Workplace EV charger installation can serve visitors too.
Retail and shopping centres: shorter visits; a mix of AC and faster DC chargers is common.
Hotels and hospitality: overnight and long-stay guests suit AC chargers; restaurants and roadside stops suit DC.
Car parks: EV charging at a car park can serve monthly permit holders and pay-as-you-go drivers from the same site.
How to install EV charging: six steps
Whoever does the physical work, the path to install a charging station at a business site looks like this:
Site survey. Map where drivers park, how far each bay is from the electrical supply and where cables will run. A qualified installer or electrician does this on site.
Check your power capacity. Find out how much spare capacity your supply has and how much the chargers would draw. Load management can share a limited supply across chargers so you fit more of them on the connection you have, before you consider an upgrade. EV charging load management
Choose your chargers. AC chargers suit long stays; DC fast chargers suit short stops and need a much larger supply. Choose OCPP chargers so you can run them on any compatible software and aren’t tied to one maker. YoCharge works with any OCPP charger, AC or DC, from 60+ brands.
Installation. YoCharge handles it for you through our installation partners, or you use your own qualified installer. Who pays for the chargers
There are two common ways to fund EV charging at a commercial property:
Buy and run them yourself. You pay for the chargers and installation, own them, set your own prices and keep the revenue, with YoCharge as your software.
Host chargers with a partner. YoCharge offers hardware, installation and maintenance through our partner CPOs, on long-term build, operate and maintain contracts of up to 7 years. The chargers run on the same YoCharge software.
Run the chargers once they’re in
Your prices: per kWh, per minute or per session, with Time-of-Day rates, idle fees and separate prices for staff, guests or the public.
Your payments: with white-label, drivers pay straight into your own payment gateway account; with YoCharge Managed, YoCharge collects payments and credits your earnings weekly.
Your power limit: load management keeps charging inside the limit you set, by priority tier, first-in-first-out or battery level.
Installing EV charging in India
Electricity connection: talk to your DISCOM early. A new connection or a higher sanctioned load may be needed, and that takes time.
Sanctioned load: YoCharge can use your sanctioned load as the site limit, so chargers share power without tripping your supply.

Payments: UPI and UBC payments go straight to your account on white-label.

Do I need to upgrade my electricity supply?
Not always. A site survey shows your spare capacity, and load management can share a limited supply across several chargers. Larger or DC sites may still need more supply.
Should I install AC or DC chargers?
AC chargers suit places where people park for hours, such as offices and hotels. DC fast chargers suit short stops and need a much larger supply. Many sites use both.
Do I need permission from my electricity provider?
Requirements vary by country and region, so check with your utility and installer. In India, a new connection or a higher sanctioned load goes through your DISCOM.
