300 EV charging stations to come up in Hyderabad
Surprisingly, the Telangana state government accelerated the process of setting up public charging stations in 2021. Those who own an EV were fortunate enough to charge their vehicle for Rs 12.06 kilowatt per hour (kWh) as service costs. In June 2022, the cost of charging was revised to 18 kilowatts per hour, but soon the prices will be revised, as said by an official from the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO). To cut down carbon emissions, the state and central governments encouraged the use of electric vehicles.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) suggested setting up 230 electric vehicle charging stations in Hyderabad city. GHMC suggested 230 EV charging stations, and HDMA submitted 100 locations to TSREDCO. The charging stations will be set up as per the feasibility of locations. Consequently, each site decided will have a high-speed DC OO1 (15kW) capacity charger and low charging with C(122-150 kW) capacity facilities.
